Tottenham were held to a 1-1 draw by MLS champions LA Galaxy as the Londoners kicked off their pre-season tour of the USA on Tuesday night.
Welsh winger Gareth Bale put Spurs ahead after 17 minutes with a fine header from Sigurdsson’s cross before Lopes equalised soon after for the home side.
Both sides had chances to win it including Sigurdsson and Defoe but neither team could find a winner and the game finished one apiece.
