Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Brazil international midfielder Oscar on the clubs official website.

The Internacional ace has been strongly linked with a move to the Blues in recent weeks and the club have now finally announced the 20-year-old is moving to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Having began his career at Sao Paulo, Oscar soon moved to Internacional where he grew into one of the most highly-rated prospects in South America.

After representing Brazil at even youth level, Oscar is now a full international and is with the squad preparing for the forthcoming London 2012 Olympic Games. Perhaps his most notable moment in a Brazil shirt came when he hit a hat-trick in the final of the Under-20 World Cup to secure a 3-2 win over Portugal.

The fee Chelsea have paid has not been disclosed, but it’s expected to take owner Roman Abramovich’s spending over £100m after the signings of Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and Kevin De Bruyne.
