Sahko Set For Move?

Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool have been alerted to the news that French giants Paris St Germain have told Mamadou Sahko he can leave the club.

Mamadou Sahko

Arsenal and Liverpool have been alerted to the news that Paris St Germain have told Mamadou Sahko he can leave the club, according to the Daily Mail.

The French defender has been with the Ligue 1 giants since the age of six and has come through the youth ranks to become the clubs captain, making 157 appearances since signing his first pro terms in 2007.

However, despite his reputation within the club his future looks in serious doubt after losing his place under Carlo Ancelotti during the second half of last season, making just two appearances in the final two months as PSG finished second in Ligue 1.

The 22-year-old has seen his chances of first team football dented further with the arrival of Thiago Silva from AC Milan last month and the Mail claim Sahko has now been told he is free to find a new club this summer.

Arsenal have long been linked with the powerful French centre back but Arsene Wenger will have to offload Sebastien Squillaci and Johan Djourou before any move can be made.

Liverpool are believed to have shortlisted Sahko as a potential replacement for Daniel Agger, who has been strongly linked with Manchester City and Barcelona in recent weeks, but Brendan Rodgers will do all he can to hang on to the Danish stopper and will only considering a move for Sahko should Agger leave Anfield.

The Premiership duo will face stiff competition for the defender though, with Newcastle, AC Milan and Lille all thought to be interested.

    Sahko or Sakho?

Lazy journalism – you don’t even know the player you’re writing about…

who cares about lazy/dropouts of players like sakho? We are interested in signing ‘real’ players with silver ……

Kipkorir, Mamadou Sakho is definitely not a lazy drop out player. He plays as a centre back for his club, but can also deputized as a right or left back if necessary. Sakho is known for his leadership credentials, his tireless engine, hard-working attitude, and his tackling ability. He has also been praised for his physical and tactical qualities. On his league debut, he became the youngest player ever to captain a Ligue 1 club. He has also been captain at all youth levels. If you are not aware, he has been the Captain of PSG until he was benched by Ancelotti and stripped of the captaincy. Ancelotti based Sakho’s benching on the increased competition in the squad as the Italian preferred the central duo of Milan Biševac and Alex. It is only because of the arrival of Thiago Silva from AC Milan last month when Sahko was told he is free to find a new club this summer. The guy is a performer. PSG now have money and they can buy anyone they want and they are getting rid of players including their former captain.

Mamadou Sakho is like a gladiator and reminds me very much like Patrick Viera.
Sakho is the type of player we need in the middle of the park. If he is free for sighning, Arsenal should not waste any time in the getting this player.

@Vincent Arsenal don’t need a right back, Sagna is doing good in that position. Koscielny and Vermaelen work as a good team. They only need a left back.

Yes as a committed fan, all I need is addition of promissing and matured players so that we can rely on our bench. Adding sahko, sahin M’baye and this dutch defender to the team as a whole is a good option.

sahko is just what arsenal need in the absense of song.. The young man is exceptional, i watched him play against barca. He’ll be a better deal than Tiote.. AW needs to revisit malaga and return with Isco’s signature too.. Were are heading back to the winning ways. God help us.
