M’Vila & Capoue Off To Tottenham?

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to beat north London rivals Arsenal to the signature of French midfield duo Etienne Capoue and Yann M’Vila, according to reports

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Tottenham look to snap up two Arsenal targets.

Yann M'Vila

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to beat rivals Arsenal to the signature of both Etienne Capoue and Yann M’Vila, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that Spurs have tabled a £12m bid for M’Vila and are seriously scouting Capoue, with Andre Villas-Boas desperately trying to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.

With Luka Modric likely to move to Real Madrid this summer and Scott Parker out for at least 2 months with an Achilles injury, AVB is keen to add to his midfield options and has identified the French pair as key targets.

Tottenham’s north London rivals Arsenal have been heavily linked with M’Vila all summer and were thought to be on the verge of completing a move for the 22-year-old before this summers European championships.

However, Arsene Wenger cooled his interest after yet another disciplinary issue at the tournament and this has opened the door for Spurs. However, the £12m offer on the table is not likely to land the talented midfield enforcer, with Rennes holding out for a fee nearer £17m.

Villas-Boas sent scouts to run the rule over Capoue as Toulouse played Montpellier on Friday and the Portuguese coach is now lining up a move for the 24-year-old.

They both play the same roles. Why would spuds need both? Do your research on the french league properly please.

You are being overly optimistic asking for a site like this to do some research, all they do is regurgitate rubish taken from other sites. I don’t really see why Spurs need either of them, they have Sandro, Parker and Huddlestone all of whom sit in front of the back four. To say they want both is ludicrous but who knows with Villa Boas.

It will be EIther or in Levy’s eyes he won’t splash out for both!

This is one of those junk speculations. I can’t remember when Spurs last spent 17m pds to purchase a player not to talk of paying over 30m pds to buy both players.

Spurs don’t scout. Arsenal scout and then Spurs reads the Sun, and place some bids. Have they bought anyone we hadn’t scouted 6 months earlier?

VDV, Modric, Sandro, Bale, Parker, Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Siggurdson, all of which Arsenals players would not even be good enough to clean their boots. Tyical gooner commenting on a Spurs post instead of worrying about your own team

How clueless about the game are you. Do you honestly think only Arsenal have scouts in the football. And just beacuse the rags report Arsenal are interested in someone doesnt mean no one else is.. And you seriously think other clubs are going to spend millions based on rumours from the rags. And off course only Arsenal have heard of these players. My God you are thick!!!

Can they scout… At all? Every single player Arsenal scout and approach, the spuds step in with a bid. It’s like they have Wenger as their top scout with all of this through the last 5 years or so. I understand they are top players, so many parties are bound to be interested… But this continuing transfer bullshit is really making me hate spuds more by the year. So pumped they got knocked from the CLUB with chelseas win.

according to mvila’s agent he wants a team who play in the champions league, with his preference being arsenal, he is willing to stay at rennes until he gets a cl team coming in for him, so the spuds can forget about that 1, capoue is a good player and seems like more realistic target, but he has also said he wants champions league football, so spuds coud end up with out gettin either, they will be lucky to get 1 of em, never mind both

Hey Dee,Its a bit harsh calling a gooner thick.(Wambam)More than thick,Its just the usual arrogance. They are under the impression, that they are the only club,in the world. One has only to visit other sites as well,to see that the majority,of rubbish seems to come out of gooner fans. They seem to have a full time hatered of Tottenham?ManU or any other club, come too that.

Well said, every Spurs post i read has a moronic gooner commenting on. They really do talk drivel its unreal. Oh so we are not allowed to approach a player if they have before us. We were linked with Neymar Apparently and yet every Spurs fan, in fact every fan in the world knows we wont pay the transfer fee, leat alone the wages but it still dont stop the media writing about it.
