European champions Chelsea get their Premier League season underway with a trip to face Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium today.

Roberto Di Matteo has handed a competitive debut to Eden Hazard while youngster Ryan Bertrand is a surprise starter. Frank Lampard and Mikel make up the midfield with Juan Mata supporting Fernando Torres in attack.

Reported Chelsea target Victor Moses starts for Wigan as does new signing Ivan Ramis.

Wigan Team

Al-Habsi, Caldwell, Alcaraz, Ramis, Boyce, Figueroa, McArthur, McCartney, Moses, Maloney, Di Santo.

Subs: Pollitt, Kone, Jones, Crusat, Watson, Gomez, Boselli.

Chelsea Team

Cech; Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Cole; Lampard, Mikel; Hazard, Mata, Bertrand; Torres

Subs: Turnbull, Cahill, Ferreira, Essien, Meireles, Oscar, Sturridge

    RDM is gonna have a reality check sooner or later, Lampard and Mikel should not be starting every game it’s not fast enough and Mikel looses a lot of possession. Pathetic

    Yeah so we Maybe two nil up but point proven with Mikel and Lampard there just not quick enough too realease the ball and make silly mistakes even when not under pressure
