Tottenham Transfer News: Spurs Close On £20m Brazilian

Tottenham are closing in on the signing of £20m-rated Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Willian, according to the Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old is unsettled in Ukraine after Donetsk blocked a move to Chelsea earlier in the summer. The Blues were unable to agree terms for the Brazilian but the Mail claims that Spurs have struck a £20m deal and are close to bringing him to north London.
Sky Sports News are also reporting that their sources indicate Spurs have made a move, so all the signs suggest Andre Villas-Boas is keen to land the exciting winger.
Willian is desperate to play in the Premier League and told the Daily Mail last August that he would be open to a move to Spurs. He compared himself to Luka Modric – who is on the verge of moving to Real Madrid – and has even been taking English lessons to make his transition to life in the UK a little easier.

The former Corinthians man is comfortable playing on the wings or more centrally, and has scored 19 goals in 129 games for Shakhtar since joining the club in 2007.
