Arsenal travel to Anfield on Sunday to take on Liverpool looking to register their first win of the season, here is the latest team news ahead of the game.

Boss Arsene Wenger has completed his weekly pres conference and in between being quizzed on transfers and the future of Theo Walcott, the Frenchman gave injury updates on Laurent Koscielny, Wojciech Szczesny, Bacary Sagna and Jack Wilshere.

The good news is that there are no fresh injury worries going in to the game and Koscielny is available again after missing the first two games of the season. However, Szczesny will face a late fitness test after missing last weeks draw with Stoke with a back complaint.

There was also some positive news on the fitness of Sagna and Wilshere, with Wenger confirming both will be assessed after next weeks international break and are close to returning the full training.

Here is what Arsene told

on the latest developments…

Koscielny will be back in the squad. Szczesny has a test tomorrow and Saturday. Everybody else should be alright.

on Sagna and Wilshere…

They are doing well but of course they are not available for Sunday. We still have to assess them again after the international break. After that they should not be too far away from normal training.

After keeping two clean sheets in our first two games, should Koscielny be brought straight back in to the team? Vermaelen is captain so it’s highly unlikely he will be replaced, so the man set for the chop is Per Mertesacker.

The German has performed very well in our opening two games, particularly against Stoke, so would it be fair to drop him? Many will say we needed Per against Stoke because of their aerial threat but will be exposed when we face a team like Liverpool, which could be a fair point.

Mertesacker would much prefer to face Peter Crouch than Luis Suarez, that’s for sure. So perhaps it’s best to bring in Koscielny for this one?

Never change a winning team, alright a unbeaten one , Mertesacker is fit and has played two games. Kos must wait for his chance. Anyway Anfield is not a lucky ground for him.

i ‘ll like wenger to use kosicieny rather per…because suarez , and their midfield need to be handled very well…moreover kosch is very fast than per…so when needed ..wenger ‘ll feature per..

I strongly think per should be replaced with kos bc per is technicaly gifted bt slow while kos if fit is more technical has speed and a good reader of the game.

PER, is playing well-leaner,meaner and faster and with 2 solid games under his belt.He had a good pre season and the xperience that goes with it.So what if he goes up against Suarez, his spreadeagled legs will contain Suarez’s close dribbling. If things don’t work out than there is plan B…Verminator on Suarez.
Kos could find the Kop intimidating, for his 1st appearance of the season, and usually one might find a muscle twitch or two if not carefull.
TIP:If Per manages to keep Suarez quiet, than the other forwards of the Premiership Teams–xCEPTION being RVP&Aguero would not stand a chance against Su PER !

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Leave the team unchanged and see how it goes.
The bench will be be stretched enough to cover defensive positions. Anyway need to defend Liverpool’s CBs.
Would like to see the Ox in centre mid when Cazorla tires.
Poldi to score in 2-1 win. Believe!

Per has played very well against Sunderland and Stoke. I’d like to see Kos held back for maybe 20 minutes at the as a sub as a fullback or halfback. The pace of the match is going to be very high and I don’t think that Kos should try to go 90 minutes. Per does alright against pace, he positions well and tackles early and cleanly.

I am more worried about the keeper situation. I want the Pole in goal. This is going to be a much tougher test for the keeper than we have had so far.
