Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Arsenal are linked with Didier Drogba.

Arsenal want to bring Didier Drogba back to the Premier League and have made enquiries over the players availability, according to the Sun.
The Ivorian striker ended a highly-successful eight year stay at Chelsea in the summer after making a free transfer move to Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.
However, the move hasn’t gone according to plan with the 34-year-old in the middle of a boardroom power struggle and there has been speculation suggesting Drogba could be set for an early exit due to unpaid wages.
Arsenal are aware of the situation and the Sun claim they have already contacted the Chinese outfit about the possibility of bringing Drogba back to London.
Arsene Wenger is said to be keen on strengthening his strike-force following the departure of Robin van Persie and with just 2 goals in their first 3 games this season, a January move for the powerful Ivory Coast international could be on the cards.

However, could Arsenal afford him? With their tight wage structure it would be difficult to see how Arsene Wenger could meet the players excessive wage demands. He’s said to be on £200,000-a-week at Shenhua after all.
Also, if Drogba becomes available the Gunners wouldn’t be the only side keen on signing him. If he was to come back to the Premier League, Chelsea would surely be clear the favourites?
So despite what the Sun report, unfortunately it’s hard to see how Drogba will ever be playing in the Red & White of Arsenal.

AFC will not pay him what he wants, no way.
I would love to see him powering through defences and scoring goals for us though.

Better to spend good money for any of Llorente, Lopez or Lewandoskis if Arsenal are willing to even pay up to£140000 a week to Drogba for 3years. Pay like 20m for llorente or lewandoski or the release close(£14.8m) of lopez in january and the title is won.

There is no way he would go to Arsenal. For starters his wage is far too high for Arsenal to afford.
In addition he is really not the type of player that Wenger typically goes for.
I also would not see him returning to Chelsea considering that he was basically dumped by them this summer.
Liverpool could use a player like him, but again, doubtful they would want to pay his high wages.
