Arsenal Expected To Make January Move For Serbian Attacker

Arsenal are expected to make their move for Serbian starlet Lazar Markovic this January but could face stiff competition to land the FK Partizan attacker.

Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Arsenal face a fight to land Lazar Markovic.

Arsenal are expected to make their move for Serbian starlet Lazar Markovic in January but could face stiff competition to land the FK Partizan attacker, according to talkSPORT.

Markovic has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s most talented youngsters after breaking in to the FK Partizan side  aged just 17 and has gone on to make over 50 appearances for the club.

His impressive form has attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs with Arsenal strongly linked with the 18-year-old attacker.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be a huge fan and talkSPORT claim the Frenchman is ready to make an official move for the Serbian youngster in January.

However, the Londoners could face a major fight to land Markovic with Barcelona, Sevilla, Fiorentina and Roma all also monitoring his situation and may make their interest known this winter.

Markovic’s stock has risen this season after some impressive performances in the Europa League and is now thought to be ready to test himself at the highest level and make a move to one of Europe’s top leagues.

While I’m happy to hear Arsene is ready to make some moves in the transfer window this January, I’m not sure buying more un-proven youngsters is going to do solve the sides current woes.

We desperately need an experienced striker who can come in and make an immediate impact so I think the boss should be concentrating his efforts on that rather than trying to sign Markovic.

I would prefer Arsenal to go for the finished product not some wc kid from Serbia,Bosnia, etc. Time is of the essence. Wenger cannot afford to make mistakes. If he wants to get the gunners challenging go for quality otherwise through penny pinching,Arsenal will slide further down the table.

it unbellievable how Arsenal game have dropped in recent years. The last two defeat suffered by the team has once again exposed the defeciencies in the team. The team seems to play without intensity something our rival Man U is endowed with in abundance. Our passing game which was a delight to behold in the past has suddenly gone sore. watching Shaktar Donesk’ Ajax the other night in the champions league you begin to ask question of Arsenal standard of play. We have dropped in the perking order. Even teams in the premiership Chelsea’ Swansea’ seems to pass the ball better. Wenger and Arsenal board need to act fast to stem the slide. Our best team at the moment is when we have Gibbs, Walcourt, Diaby all playing. Santos has no business playing in the current Arsenal team, he is over weight, lacks ideas of what to do when with the ball. our wing backs are not creative enough, that is why we are struggling creating chances for goals. Meterserker is too slow he does not seem to link up well with forwards when we are on offensive i prefer Kocieny. Girould may be off mark at the moment but he will start scoring once Wenger is able to get the team play with fluidity, intensity and focus. finally Wenger should get a replacement for Song during the January window or allow Arteta play offensively at the moment he and Ramsey are playing too deep. its good to have both Wilshere and Sangna back, they both will provide lots of quality and options to the team.
