Tottenham blew their chance to cement a top-four place after going down to a shock 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.
Spurs were largely poor throughout the game and the visitors hard working and organised approach frustrated the home side.Ben Watson got the only goal of the game after Brad Friedel could only parry a corner into his path and the midfielder’s effort was rightly adjudged to have crossed the line.
Andre Villas-Boas came under fire from the WHL faithful when he replaced Jermaine Defoe with Emmanuel Adebayor as the Portuguese coach stuck to his one-up-top formation as Tottenham searched for an equaliser.
