Arsenal Transfer News: Cavani Responds To Arsenal Move Talk

Uruguayan superstar Edinson Cavani has ruled out a move away from Napoli amid rumours Premier League side Arsenal are lining up a January move for the striker

Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Edinson Cavani rules out a move.

Edinson Cavani has ruled out a move away from Napoli amid rumours Arsenal are lining up a January move for the striker, according to talkSPORT.

The Uruguayan hitman has become one of the most sought-after players in world football after moving to Napoli from Palermo in 2010. The 25-year-old has scored an impressive 80 goals in 110 games for the italian outfit and has attracted interest from several of Europe’s top clubs.

The latest club to be linked is Arsenal, with recent reports suggesting Arsene Wenger is lining up a big-money move for the player. However, Cavani has responded to the speculation and insists he’s happy at Napoli and won’t be moving to the Emirates any time soon.

When quizzed about a potential January move to Arsenal, Cavani is quoted by talkSPORT as saying:

“My future is the present, I’m happy at Napoli, my teammates are fantastic, the fans are very passionate and my family is settled here – it’s all fantastic.

“I’m happy I came here.”

Cavani would be a ‘dream’ signing for Arsenal and while it’s nice to be linked with players of his quality, many Arsenal fans, myself included, didn’t for one second think Wenger would spend the money required to land the highly-rated striker. It would be a serious change in transfer policy but it’s always nice to dream, isn’t it?!

Anyway, it seems the player is happy in Serie A and won’t be moving in January so back to looking at more realistic targets. Thierry Henry back on loan anyone?

I would of loved cavani but really we need a striker a left back plus another attacking midfielder and someone who can play defensive or defensive midfield. Realistically we need a few players near the end of their contract. schalkes holtby and huntelaar and i hope their managers negative comments on this are similar to wenger saying van persie is going nowhere.

I’ve sadly long since lost the belief that Arsenal will spend serious money on major established quality … they’d always rather find untapped young talent and try and nuture it and reep the rewards of selling said talent just when it starts to come good.
With some £70 million sitting in the transfer kitty, I’d loved to be shocked and pleasantly surprised by us actually acquiring a couple of £20 million plus players in Jan, but I’m not holding my breath.

Cavani or no cavani i still think Wenger can perform well without most expensive playeres. Look at Chelsea. With Mata, Torres, Hazard and the rest of the best of world players. Where are they in the champs league? Even in the premier league they are not doing that well.My hope is that Giroud delivers, and he is really doing fine. It it is just a matter of time, we will be at the top.

There wont be any mistake in sighning carvanii but does that bridge all the gaps we have including the position left by Alex song at least am getting convinced eithe olivier, poddolski or Walcot can be mentored to suitv in Van PERSIES POSITION
