Manchester United won a seven-goal thriller against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday evening to move three points clear at the top of the league.
The home side took an early lead through Robson-Kanu before Anderson and Rooney hit back for United to make it 2-1 to the visitors. Reading equalised almost immediately through Le Fondre before taking the lead once again via Morrison making it 3-2 on 23 minutes. However, United didn’t lay down and were level once more, Rooney getting his second of the game before van Persie made it 4-3 with what turned out to be the winner after just 34 minutes.
After a thrilling seven goal first half, the second period was a far less entertaining affair that brought no further goals so Man Utd took home the three points to move three clear of second-placed City, who drew 1-1 with Everton earlier in the day.
