Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, is Demba Ba set to leave Newcastle?

Arsenal and Liverpool have been alerted to the news that Newcastle are ready to sell striker Demba Ba in the first week of the January transfer window if he doesn’t sign a new contract in the coming weeks, according to the Mirror.
The report claims the Geordies have been unable to agree a new contract with the striker after he rejected their £70,000-a-week offer and they want to sell early to give themselves enough time to bring in a replacement, with Alan Pardew’s men reported to have already begun talks with Marseille over the potential signing of Loic Remy.
The Mirror link Arsenal and Liverpool with Ba and claim the 27-year-old is available for £7m due to a buy-out clause in his contract.
The Senegal international moved to Newcastle on a free transfer from West Ham in 2011 and was a surprise hit, scoring 16 goals in the league last term. He’s already on his way to beating that total this season after bagging 10 goals in just 17 appearances so far, so it’s no surprise clubs may be looking at him.
The knee injury that’s plagued him throughout his career seems to have cleared up so he could be an excellent signing for either Arsenal or Liverpool, if they decide to follow up their reported interest in the striker.
Both teams could do with a striker when the transfer window re-opens next month. While Olivier Giroud is slowly settling in at the Emirates, Arsene Wenger needs more options up front and there is little doubt Liverpool require another striker as they’ve been heavily reliant on Luis Suarez so far this season.

Will either move for Ba though? We’ll have to wait and see but he could prove to be an astute buy if they do manage to land him.

Wenger should go 4 Ba instead of huntlaar becos Ba will be able to feature 4 us in d champions league than huntlaar dat has already played in d champions league.we dont need a cup tight player dat can play 4 us in d champions league.wenger should go 4 diame also,so as to take d defensive position we are lacking presently.
