Liverpool take on Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Sunday afternoon looking to bounce back from last weeks disappointing defeat to Stoke City.

The Reds have been dogged by inconsistent form so far this season and currently languish in mid-table in the league – a full 10 points off fourth-placed Chelsea – following their Boxing Day loss at the Britannia.

Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to end 2012 on a positive note but will face a QPR side who’re fighting for their lives at the foot of the table.

Harry Redknapp’s men have managed just one win so far this season but will be hoping for a repeat of last years stunning 3-2 win over the Reds, that saw Rangers come from 2-0 down with just 10 minutes remaining.

That game sparked a run of five wins in the next 10 games to secure survival in the Premier League and Redknapp will be hoping a repeat result this weekend will have a similar effect on his squad.

Team News

QPR defender Ryan Nelsen is likely to miss out after being struck down by a virus and he will join goalkeeper Julio Cesar, full-back Nedum Onuoha, midfielder Park Ji-sung and strikers Andrew Johnson and Bobby Zamora on the sidelines.

Liverpool are sweating on the fitness of Luis Suarez after Rodgers confirmed his top-scorer is struggling with an ankle injury. However, the Uruguayan is likely to be passed fit for the clash at Loftus Road.

Raheem Sterling is in line for a recall along with Joe Allen, after the pair were left out against Stoke.

Predicted Score

Liverpool have a poor recent record in London, losing nine of their last 16 visits to the capital, but the Merseysiders will be confident of seeing off QPR this weekend. We can see Brendan Rodgers side getting the three points, but Harry Redknapp’s side will make a game of it. QPR 1-2 Liverpool
