Manchester United extended their lead at the top of the league to ten-points after beating Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
United went ahead in the 19th minute when Evra teed-up van Persie who stroked the ball home past Reina before Vidic doubled the home sides advantage shortly after half time when Evra’s far post header deflected off him and past Reina.
Liverpool got themselves back in the game through substitute Daniel Sturridge pounced after De Gea had saved Gerrard’s effort but the home side held on to put the pressure on Man City ahead of their game against Arsenal.
