Liverpool vs Norwich Preview, Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score

Liverpool will welcome Norwich City to Anfield on Saturday afternoon. Here is a preview with team news, likely line-ups and predicted score for the big game.

Anfield Kop

If the match can survive the snow, Liverpool will welcome Norwich City to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Much of the pre-match talk has centered around a certain controversial Uruguayan striker with Luis Suarez once again hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons after admitting to diving against Stoke City earlier in the season.

According to Sky Sports, the Liverpool hitman has escaped any punishment from the FA but I’m sure Brendan Rodgers will want a quiet word in his ear as his admission has hardly done his club any favours.

However, the Reds will be looking for Suarez to hit the headlines for the right reasons this weekend and continue his stunning record against Norwich that has seen him score two hat tricks against them in his last two appearances.

Liverpool head into the game sitting eight in the league table but they could go level on points with sixth-placed Arsenal with a win on Saturday.

However, Norwich arrive at Anfield desperate for points after a run of just one point out of a possible 15 has seen Chris Hughton’s men drop down to 12th, but a win this weekend would see them move to within two points of the hosts.

Team News

Rodgers is likely to hand new signing Daniel Sturridge his Premier League debut after the striker scored two goals in his two appearances so far since joining from Chelsea.

Defender Jose Enrique remains out with a hamstring injury so Glen Johnson is likely to continue at left back with Andre Wisdom on the right.

Jordan Henderson is pushing Joe Allen for a place in midfield alongside Lucas Leiva and Steven Gerrard.

Norwich midfielder Jonny Howson is back in contention after recovering from illness, but he may have to make do with a place on the bench. Andrew Surman is also back in the squad and striker Grant Holt has been passed fit.

However, Hughton will still be without defender Steven Whittaker and striker Steve Morison.

Predicted Score & Betting review

Liverpool are understandably red-hot favourites to win this one with Bwin currently offering odds of just 3/10 for a home win. This doesn’t offer a lot of value so we like the look of Liverpool to win 3-1 at odds of 9/1.  If you fancy a punt on the game head over to Bwin here:  https://sports.bwin.com/en/sports/4/betting/football. We may also spice up our bet further by betting on Suarez to score first in a 3-1 win, which is on offer at odds of 18/1.

Liverpool have been patchy at home this season but they’ve won six of their last seven Premier League games against Norwich and Suarez loves a goal or three against the Cannaries, so we think our bet has a good chance of coming in.
