Clint Dempsey scored a late equaliser to salvage a point as Tottenham drew 1-1 with Manchester United at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
United took the lead when Robin Van Persie headed home a Tom Cleverley cross in the 25th minute. Spurs pushed hard for an equaliser but were denied by the excellent David De Gea on several occasions until United’s resolve was finally broken in injury time when Lennon set up Dempsey to tap home after a weak punch by the Spaniard.
