Despite the transfer window now being closed there will still be plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Radamel Falcao has revealed he’s learning English.

Colombia Radamel Falcao

Reported Chelsea target Radamel Falcao has revealed he’s learning English but claims it’s only so he can speak the language the next time he comes to the UK on holiday, according to Goal.com.

The prolific Columbian hitman has become one of the most feared strikers in world football in recent seasons after scoring an incredible 132 goals in just 162 games during his five years in Europe. After a successful stint at Porto, Falcao moved to Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has continued his fine form in front of goal – scoring 24 goals in 25 games already this season.

This form hasn’t gone unnoticed in England with Goal.com claiming European champions Chelsea are keeping a close eye on him and rumours of a potential summer switch to Stamford Bridge have been fuelled with the news that Falcao is learning English.

However, the striker insists it’s only so he can speak that language the next time he goes on holiday.

“English? I am learning. I have many years ahead of me, so I hope the next time I go on holiday, I have the chance to use it.” Falcao is quoted as saying by Goal.com

Only last week reports from Spain claimed a deal for Falcao to join Chelsea had already been agreed and the striker would move to west London in the summer. Now the player has admitted he’s learning English. Hmmm. Coincidence? Quite possibly, or maybe he’s learning English in preparation for his move to Stamford Bridge in the summer. I’ll leave that for you to decide….but unfortunately we may have to wait until the summer to know for sure.
