Arsenal get back to domestic action this weekend after another disappointing week in north London when they host Aston Villa at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

Our 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League was another body-blow following on from Saturday’s debacle against Blackburn but Villa provide us with a perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways this weekend.

Boss Arsene Wenger has given Arsenal.com a team news and injury update ahead of the game with the latest on Bacary Sagna and Kieran Gibbs.

Right-back Sagna is set to miss the game this Saturday after picking up a knee problem so Carl Jenkinson is likely to step in. Wenger also confirmed that Gibbs is still on the sidelines and won’t be back for ‘a few weeks yet’. Other than that, we have no other injury concerns. Arsene told the clubs official website:

On Bacary Sagna…

Sagna has a problem with his knee. He will be out for Saturday certainly. I don’t think there are any other knocks really.

On Kieran Gibbs…

He is still out. He will be a few weeks yet.

Losing Sagna is a blow but Jenkinson should be able to come in and cope with Villa OK. The worry will be if Sagna’s injury rules him out of the vital upcoming games with Tottenham and Everton.

I can see the boss making a few changes to the team this weekend with the likes of Thomas Rosicky, Abou Diaby and Olivier Giroud all pushing for recalls to the starting line-up. Theo Walcott was starved of service up front against Bayern and Arsen’s risk back-fired but I think we’ll see him moved back to the wing this weekend with Giroud coming back in.

Now we’ve seen the team news what would be your preferred line-up for the Villa game? Leave your suggestions below.
