Chelsea Make Contact With Falcao’s Agent As Roman Prepares £40m Contract Offer

Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Radamel Falcao with Roman Abramovich contacting his agent and is prepared to tempt the striker with a £40m contract.

Despite the transfer window now being closed there will still be plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Chelsea step up their pursuit of Radamel Falcao.

Colombia Radamel Falcao

Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Radamel Falcao with owner Roman Abramovich understood to have already contacted his agent and is prepared to tempt the striker with a £40m contract offer, according to the Express.

The report claims the Blues are looking to beat Real Madrid to the players signature this summer and hope to use their relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes – who represents Falcao – to their advantage.

The Express report that owner Abramovich has already made contact with Mendes regarding the future of Falcao, with the agent previously brokering deals for Jose Mourinho, Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira, Tiago and Maniche to move to Stamford Bridge.

The newspaper claims Chelsea are willing to hand the 27-year-old striker a four-year deal worth £10m per season as well as meet a transfer fee said to be in the region of £50m, making the whole deal worth a staggering £90m overall.

Chelsea signed Demba Ba in January but despite scoring the winning goal against West Brom at the weekend, the former Newcastle hitman has only scored 4 goals in 12 appearances so far. Fernando Torres has continued his poor form in front of goal and hasn’t found the target in his last 11 Premier League games, so a top striker could be a priority for the European champions this summer as Abramovich looks to make up for what’s been a disastrous season so far at the Bridge.

And if you want a striker, they don’t come much better than Falcao, who’s scored an incredible 63 goals in 78 games for Atletico since making the move from Porto in 2011.

I think it is the right time that Chelsea owner and the management board should stop spending a huge amount on one player ,pls I would to ask this simply question what if at the end he turn to be worster than torres .so I suggest we should go to all young strikers than going to one with such amount .
