Manchester United crashed out of the Champions League in controversial circumstances as Nani was sent off with United leading 2-1 on aggregate before Real Madrid went on to win the tie 3-2.

Going into the game with the score at 1-1 after the first leg, United took control of the tie when Ramos turned Nani’s cross into his own net shortly after half time. However, the game turned on its head when Nani was harshly sent off for a high boot on Arbeloa and United were forced to play over 30 minutes with 10-men.

Madrid made the extra man count and won the game 2-1 thanks to goals from Modric and Ronaldo, progressing to the quarter finals 3-2 on aggregate. Watch all the goals and Nani’s sending off below.
