Luka Modric Wants Manchester United Move
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric wants to move to Manchester United this summer after struggling to make an impact in Spain, according to the Daily Mail.
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Luka Modric is linked with Manchester United.
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric wants to move to Manchester United after struggling to make an impact in Spain, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims United tried to sign the Croatian playmaker from Tottenham over two years ago as they looked to replace Paul Scholes but a deal failed to materialise and Modric eventually left White Hart Lane for Madrid in a £33m deal last summer.
However, his time in La Liga hasn’t gone smoothly with the 27-year-old struggling to hold down a first team place in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven and he was recently voted as the worst signing of the season by readers of Spanish paper Marca.
The former Dinamo Zagreb ace did come off the bench to smash home a stunning equaliser during Madrid’s controversial Champions League win over United last week but that was a rare highlight in what’s been a disappointing season in Spain and the Mail suggest that Modric wants to return to the Premier League and ‘has his heart set’ on a move to Old Trafford.

United signed Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund last summer but with Paul Scholes expected to retire and Darren Fletcher struggling to overcome a bowel condition, Sir Alex Ferguson could be on the look-out for another central midfielder at the end of the season and the newspaper suggests he still holds and interest in Modric.
