De Bruyne Out, Schurrle In At Stamford Bridge This Summer?

Bayer Leverkusen want to sign on loan Chelsea winger Kevin de Bruyne on a permanent basis this summer and may propose a swap deal involving Andre Schurrle.

Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, could Chelsea do a swap deal involving Kevin de Bruyne and Andre Schurrle?

Bayer Leverkusen want to sign on-loan Chelsea winger Kevin de Bruyne on a permanent basis this summer and may propose a swap deal involving Andre Schurrle, according to talkSPORT.

The Blues only signed De Bruyne in January 2012 but immediately loaned him back to Genk for the rest of last season as part of the deal that saw him move to Stamford Bridge and he’s yet to play a first team game for the club after being sent out on a season-long loan deal to Werder Bremen this campaign.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form in Germany scoring 6 goals in 26 games for a struggling Bremen side and it seems he’s now attracted the interest of Leverkusen. talkSPORT claim the clubs CEO Wolfgang Holzhauser described De Bruyne as a ‘very interesting man’ in a recent interview and the Bundesliga outfit are said to be lining up a summer bid.

Chelsea are yet to announce who their new manager will be this summer once interim boss Rafa Benitez leaves his post at the end of the season, but it will most likely be up to the new man in charge to decide whether De Bruyne is part of his long-term plans or not.

The Belgian international could find himself sent out on loan again but talkSPORT suggest that Leverkusen may try to use Chelsea’s long-standing interest in forward Andre Schurrle to boost their hopes of landing De Bruyne by including the German international in a swap deal.

The report claims the Blues had a £20m offer for the 22-year-old rejected last summer so Leverkusen may tempt the west Londoners with the chance to finally land him if they could get De Bruyne in return.

Not against acquiring Schurrle, but I’d take De Bruyne over him. Both are versatile players, but De Bruyne’s suits Chelsea better IMO. Plus, I would think Chelsea would like to keep their young Belgian contingent together for years to come.

pls chelsea shld not do this, and i think chelsea’s 1st choice signing in the striking position is falcoa, until that persuit fails, this will never happen. I prefer de bryune to schurle or whatever he’s called.
