Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are linked with Loic Remy and Adil Rami.

Arsenal eye cut-price Remy

First up is news coming from the Express who claim Arsenal are eyeing a cut-price move for Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy if the west Londoners are relegated from the Premier League this season.

The French international only moved to Rangers in January and has scored 3 goals in 6 games but the newspaper says that his contract includes a get-out clause that would mean he’d be available for just £4m if Harry Redknapp’s men fail to avoid the drop this season. The report claims Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has made enquiries for Remy in the past and will renew his interest in the 26-year-old if he decides he doesn’t fancy playing Championship football next season.

With QPR currently sitting bottom of the league and 7 points from safety with just 8 games remaining, its looking increasingly likely they will go down this year and if Remy can be snapped up for just £4m, he’s certainly worth a look.

Anzhi enter Rami chase

Next up and talkSPORT are claiming that Arsenal will have to battle it out with Anzhi Makhachkala for Valencia defender Adil Rami after the Russians entered the race for his signature.

The report suggests that the Gunners have been viewed as favourites to sign the French centre-back this summer with Arsene Wenger thought to be keen on adding to his defensive options at the end of the season. However, it seems we’ll have to fend off interest from Anzhi with talkSPORT suggesting the big-spending Russian outfit are willing to pay £13m as well as £3m-a-year wages for the talented 27-year-old.

If he really wanted remi in jan as a top top player? well then he would have bought him. If he buys him just because of a bargain i will be very disappointed.

As for the french defender i think theirs many better we should look at. Ive seen a little of him and he seems to prefer forward play also is nowhere near Hummels ability.

Would prefer if Wenger sticks to his word and tries for real quality, and gets over the fact that the market is inflated.

What we need is a top class striker and a top class DM . Period ! I feel we have enough in defense and if he were to go for a defensive option , get back up for what have already . Id say a successful transfer window would be signing Etienne Capoue and Alexis Sanchez ….in the same breath, idont think that will happen
