Liverpool’s hopes of securing European qualification this season were dealt a huge blow as they were held to a 0-0 draw by West Ham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds were largely disappointing with January signing Philippe Coutinho a shining light in an otherwise lackluster display. The Hammers defended resolutely but also had a couple of half-chances themselves, but neither side could break the deadlock and the result leaves Brendan Rodgers men sitting in seventh place in the Premier League table and with it all to do to overhaul sixth placed Everton.
