Chelsea Set To Gazump Liverpool’s Bid To Land £20m Brazilian

Chelsea are ready to beat Liverpool to the signing of Brazilian defender Dede as they look to replace captain John Terry this summer, according to the Express.

Chelsea are ready to beat Liverpool to the signing of Brazilian defender Dede as they look to replace captain John Terry this summer, according to the Express.

Dede has been earning rave reviews in his homeland after a string of impressive displays at the heart of Vasco Da Gama’s defence and he’s also broken into the Brazilian national team set up – with 7 caps to his name so far.

It seems his impressive form hasn’t gone unnoticed hear in England with the Express claiming the centre-back has attracted strong interest from Liverpool with the Merseysiders understood to be lining up a £15m bid, and Vasco are ready to cash in on the imposing 24-year-old this summer to ease the clubs financial crisis.

However, it appears Chelsea are now ready to gazump the Reds plans for Dede with the report suggesting the Blues have identified him as the long-term successor to captain John Terry and are thought to be closing in on a £20m deal.

Terry, 32, has just one year left on his current contract so Chelsea will have to start making plans to replace him soon and the newspaper claims scouts have been monitoring Dede on a regular basis as the European champions prepare to not only beat Liverpool’s offer but also use their strong Brazilian contingent to lure the defender to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
