Serie A Hitman Agrees Terms Over Arsenal Move?

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Stevan Jovetic with the Express reporting that the Fiorentina hitman has agreed a four-year deal worth £100,000-a-week.

Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal close on the signing of Stevan Jovetic.

Stevan Jovetic

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of  Stevan Jovetic with the Express reporting that the Fiorentina hitman has agreed a four-year deal worth £100,000-a-week.

The report claims that Jovetic is Arsene Wenger’s No.1 transfer target this summer and is ready to splash a large proportion of his £70m budget on the striker, with Fiorentina understood to be seriously considering our £24m offer.

The Express suggest the deal is close to completion after the 23-year-old agreed personal terms – believed to be a four-year contract worth £100,000-a-week – but the major caveat is that we have to secure Champions League football in order for the Montenegrin international to rubber-stamp the move.

We currently sit third in the table, one point ahead of Chelsea and two ahead of Spurs, who play each other in their game in hand, so we’re in a strong position to secure a top-four finish but we may need to get a positive result against Manchester United this Sunday to really put us in the driving seat.

A striker is certainly required this summer as we’ve been severely lacking alternatives to Olivier Giroud up front this season and I’d love to see Jovetic come to the Emirates. He’s been in excellent form this season for Fiorentina, scoring 12 goals in 25 games, but his all-round play is superb and I think he’d fit in well to our style of play.

The newspaper report claims Juventus are also interested but the Viola would prefer to sell abroad and Jovetic recently admitted it was a “big pleasure for me to be on the radar of such a big club” when responding to reports linking him with a move to Arsenal, so we’re in with a good shout if we can strike a deal with Fiorentina.

Ladies and gentlemen, calm down and be gentle because its Wenger talking. You will see that he still has the magic touch that brought us Vieira, Thierry Pirez, Ljungberg, Jens Lehman and Gilberto to mention a few. Stop dissing him and to contradict yourself. We do not appreciate whatever it is that you believe in whatever philosophy you have.
With hands tied behind he did not have much choice but for 8 years he has done wonders. If you dont believe me ask Liverpool supporters. They’ve spent more than us in the same time period but where are they?

oh and Wenger is also the man who bought us great players like Kiwomya,Djorou, Sanderos, Squilatchi, cygan, bendtner etc so don’t put him on a pedestal regarding his transfer pedigree!

Why a striker who score 12 goals in 25 games… we have one better than him already – and he is not good enough… let him stay where he is – go and get a true Arsenal player. Not another to add to the ones whom we put out to loan please!

I think Jovetic is a versatile striker, he’s gonna be a success in Arsenal an he also has this similarity with Suarez.
