Arsenal Line-up £10m Bid For French Midfielder To Replace Abou Diaby
Arsenal are interested in signing Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin this summer as boss Arsene Wenger looks to replace injury-plagued midfielder Abou Diaby.
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are linked with Morgan Schneiderlin.
Arsenal are interested in signing Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin this summer as boss Arsene Wenger looks to replace injury-plagued midfielder Abou Diaby, according to the Sun.
Diaby missed practically the whole of last season with a succession of injuries and has once again seen this campaign blighted by various problems, with a cruciate knee ligament injury sustained in training in March ruling him out for up to 9 months.
With Diaby’s long-term Arsenal future in doubt, it seems boss Arsene Wenger is ready to bring in a replacement this summer with the Sun claiming we’re prepared to pay Southampton £10m for their midfielder Schneiderlin – who’s been hugely impressive in the middle of the park for the Saints this season.
The report suggests Wenger has been monitoring the 23-year-old France international since he moved to England for £1.2m from Strasbourg back in 2008, and with the boss believed to be gearing up for a serious spending spree this summer, it appears a move for Schneiderlin could be on the cards.

Personally, he wouldn’t be my first choice if we’re going to buy a central midfielder this summer, but as long as we’re strengthening the squad with proven talent, I’ll be happy.
