With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, news on two Arsenal and Liverpool targets.
Sanchez rules out move
Arsenal and Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Alexis Sanchez after the Barcelona attacker committed his future to the Nou Camp, according to talkSPORT.
The Chilean ace moved to Barca from Udinese in 2011 and after an impressive debut season has struggled to live up to his past form and has regularly found himself out of Tito Vilanova’s starting eleven this campaign, leading to question marks over his future.
talkSPORT claim Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in bringing him to the Premier League this summer but it seems the 24-year-old is willing to remain in Spain and fight for his place in the Barcelona team.
“I am working every day to help the team, I am very happy here. I have a contract until 2016 and I want to stay.
“The squad is so good here, but everyone has been very welcoming.” Sanchez is quoted as saying by talkSPORT
Williams valued at £10m
Next up and Sky Sports News are reporting that Swansea have slapped a £10m valuation on Arsenal and Liverpool target Ashley Williams.
The centre-back has been in outstanding form this season for the Swans and not only guided them to another mid-table finish but also lead them to the Capital One Cup with a 5-0 win over Bradford at Wembley in February.
His impressive form appears to have attracted interest from some of the league’s ‘big-boys’ but Sky Sports sources claim that Swansea will only be prepared to sell their captain if a club pays at least £10m.
With Williams turning 29 in August, it remains to be seem whether the likes of Arsenal or Liverpool will be prepared to pay an eight-figure sum for a player approaching his final years at the top and who will have little sell-on value.

I would go for douglas of twente available on a bosman. £10m doesnt mean you are better just more expensive. Let’s be honest is williams really worth £10m? I am sure there are better players in almost every team available for less

I agree and go for Douglas! Also he is only 22! Kelly is more than a step up to Williams who is almost 30! As long as he stays injury free that is!
