Chelsea & Man Utd Blow As Falcao Tipped To Make Surprise £50m Move

Chelsea and Man Utd look set to miss out on Radamel Falcao with the Atletico Madrid striker set to make a shock £50m move to big-spending French outfit Monaco.

With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, is Radamel Falcao off to Monaco?

Colombia Radamel Falcao

Chelsea and Manchester United look set to miss out on Radamel Falcao with the Express reporting that the Atletico Madrid striker is set for a shock £50m move to big-spending French outfit Monaco.

Falcao has become one of the hottest strikers in world football since moving to Madrid from Porto in 2011, scoring 69 goals in 87 appearances so far, and his form has attracted interest from throughout Europe.

The Express claims that Chelsea and United have held a long-term interest in the Colombian hitman while the likes of PSG and Real Madrid are also understood to be keeping an eye on the 27-year-old ahead of a potential summer move away from the Vicente Calderon.

However, the report suggests ambitious Monaco have jumped to the front of the queue and are tipped to tie up a €60m (£50.7m) deal for Falcao before the end of the season.

Monaco are on the verge of sealing promotion back to Ligue 1 and are expected to spend big this summer with the club back by billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, and manager Claudio Ranieri seemingly has his eye on some big name targets.

Sealing a deal for Falcao would not only be a huge coup for the French outfit but it would also be a major blow to the likes of Chelsea and United.

Excellent news now Man Utd can concentrate on rebuilding their midfield by signing the likes of Modric, Strootman or Gundogan. If Man Utd need a massive signing then its got to be Ronaldo or Bale!!

Falcao is imo the most underrated player in world football.. I hope he goes to Monaco and win everything with them! When he was in Porto, people said Hulk is the guy.. he went to atletico (a team like Aston Villa) and made them win the UEFA and the Super Cup.. now many say he’s too expensive.. but the truth is, he is cheap at this price tag! 27 years to old? he has at least 5 years of top competitive level.. but yeah lets better invest in youngsters and wait and hope that they improve! almost all winning teams do that! lol! you want to win? get the best! Lewandowski? just because he scored 4 goals and he is 24? come on! hes another Dzeko but not a Falcao…

The failure of Torres has caused Chelsea to think they need another striker.
However they are the only team with more tab one striker in the top ten of the EPL. THEY HAVE 3!
Lampard and the under used Ba have 15 goals each, Lukaku has scored 14 with West Brom.
KEEP LAMPS, BRING BACK LUKAKU AND GIVE BA MORE MATCH TIME.
Finally have Cortois share stopper duties with Cech.
Having payed over 130 games in the last 2 seasons, surely this makes sense. If sharing duties 50/50 they will both play more games than most European goalkeepers.

One more thing. Only United have scored more goals than Chelsea in the EPL this season.
Rooney, with EPL experience, would be a better and surely cheaper option than Falcao, Cavani or Lewandoski, all of whom could fail, as so many have before.
