[Video] Wenger Confirms Sanogo Signing Is Close – Watch Him Score Some Spectacular Goals

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed he’s close to signing striker Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre on a free transfer. Watch some videos of the youngster in action

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he’s close to signing striker Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre on a free transfer.

The French under-21 international has shot to prominence this season after scoring 9 goals in just 11 appearances for the French Ligue 2 outfit, but has seen his season plagued by a series of niggling injuries.

It seems he’s set to follow in the footsteps of several other young Frenchman before him and make the move to north London this summer, with Wenger confirming at his weekly press conference on Friday morning that a deal to sign Sanogo on a free transfer is at an advanced stage.

“We are advanced with him, but it is not done,” said Wenger. “I am very confident. He is a young striker who is promising, and has a big talent.” Wenger is quoted as saying by the Guardian.

Judging by the videos below, he looks to be a powerful, pacey forward with an eye for goal. If he manages to stay fit, we could have a real player on our hands here. Watch him in action:

Sign Rooney, are you mad? He’s temperamental, over hyped, has been called out by ferguson for being a bad trainer and disruptive and gets paid about 250k a week (2 and a 1/2 times our current top wage). You could buy Cavani for that. And much as I’d like that to happen it isn’t. Get real guys.
