Arsenal Ready To Launch Record £19m Move For Gonzalo Higuain

Arsenal have made signing a world-class striker a priority and Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain is a prime target with the Gunners ready to launch a record £19m bid

With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are tipped to move for Gonzalo Higuain.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made signing a world-class striker his priority this summer and Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain has emerged as prime target with the Gunners ready to launch a record £19m bid, according to the Telegraph.

The report claims the boss has £70m available to spend and is planning on making his moves in the market early after securing qualification to the Champions League, and with the club facing a tricky two legged play-off in August it seems we want to have a settled squad in place in time for that crucial double-header.

While we’ve shared the goals around the squad this season – with four players reaching doubles figures in the Premier League alone – a clinical striker could make a huge difference in turning us into a trophy-winning side again and it appears Wenger agrees.

The Telegraph suggest that the boss has held a long-term interest in Higuain after narrowly missing out on his signature in 2007 and is now alerted to the 26-year-old’s availability this summer, with the Argentine understood to be available for around £19m.

That would represent a record fee for Arsenal but it would surely be money well spent as Higuain is a world-class forward who’s proven it at the highest level – scoring 120 goals and providing 45 assists in 264 games for Madrid.

The newspaper claims Wenger is also keeping a close eye on Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic, the unsettled Wayne Rooney and Higuain’s Madrid strike partner Karim Benzema, but it’s the former River Plate man who looks to be the most realistic target.

Personally, I think Higuain would be the best buy out of those four reported targets and I think he’d be a great piece of business at £19m.

In those strikers that arsene target to strengh his club,i dnt really think higuain is best among,my reason they is premier league is very different with the others league, and also the other trophic.in that case we only want the striker who already play in english premier league, that why im my advised as a truly fans of arsenal,i advise our coach to bring wayne rooney in our club arsenal, because he is the best among of those 4 strikers that he wanted to buy.

For a strong bench, we need both Higuan and Jovetic to take care of the unexpected injuries since a weak bench has contributed to our not so good performance.

Infact am in full support of what joseph said, higuan can serve as better sub to jovetic and podolski as better sub to giroud incase there is injury blow, pls arsenal really need this two player than a man seeking for a wife and children, pls arsenal has put us in suspense enough.

The mentality of saying ‘premier league is different is what has made the PL teams not perform at levels higher than premier league. Do they play a heavier ball than other teams? The answer is no! Then Quality players and working hard, that is all. Higuain is good and if hima and jovetic are secured is even spectacular! But can Arsenal afford to buy Cavani, Larvezzi, Falcao? The answer is never in the earth, maybe in heaven! So at that price, Higuain is Ok! Then add Wanyama and Gonalon in the midfield (or Gonalon and Greiner). Then one right back for whatever is thought about Sagna, then job done.
