Spurs Line-Up £36m Double Swoop

Tottenham Hotspur plan to splash around £36million on long-term target Leandro Damiao and Spain striker Roberto Soldado this summer, according to the Guardian.

With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Tottenham are linked with a £36m double swoop.

Soldado – on AVB’s radar

Tottenham Hotspur plan to splash around £36m on long-term target Leandro Damiao and Spain striker Roberto Soldado this summer, according to the Guardian.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas pleaded with the club to be ambitious in the transfer market this summer after narrowly missing out on a top four finish and it seems chairman Daniel Levy is ready to back his boss by opening the cheque book to add two top drawer strikers to the squad.

The report claims Spurs will renew their interest in Internacional’s Damiao after coming close to signing the 23-year-old in January with the Brazilian clubs president Giovanni Luigi recently admitting that they had opened talks with the north London club over the £16m-rated striker.

The Guardian suggests AVB wants to pair the Damiao with Valencia hitman Soldado up front next year and has had scouts watch the 27-year-old on several occasions this season. They would have been impressed with his form as he bagged 27 goals in all competitions, and should Valencia miss out on qualification to the Champions League he could be made available for around £20m.

The newspaper claims to make room for the two new signings, Spurs will look to ease the wage bill by offloading Emmanuel Adebayor, Scott Parker and Tom Huddleston, while William Gallas will leave the club on a free transfer.

Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor only managed 16 league goals between them last season and Spurs still managed to push Arsenal all the way, so the addition of two proven goal-scorers will surely propel Tottenham into serious top-four challengers next season.

These would be a great couple of deals IF!!!!!!!! they come off but I wont be holding my breath we all know how long the deal for Diamiao has been dragging on and lets be real this is Spurs and we will be linked with every striker in the game before the end of this window its always the same. Not being negative here just realistic I would love both deals and I would welcome them with open arms but lets not jump the gun here no deals are set in stone yet if we do get both and Mountinho this would be one of our best ever windows and I for one think we could challenge a bit higher up the league so fingers crossed the one thing I will say is Levy needs to get all our deals done quick and quiet to give us a real chance and not try holding out for last minute deals COYS

I think we could play a good 4-2-2-2 if we got both.
If we got moutinho, one would sit on the bench and we could go 4-3-3 with a Moutinho – Sandro – Dembele midfield. I wouldnt even mind playing a 4-4-1-1 lumping the ball up o Ade and then playing Soldado/Damiao through or Bale/Lennon down the wing looking forthe late trailer coming into the box to latch onto the cross. And ummmm………. oh ya, SELL PARKER, HE FCKING SUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
