Double Blow For Arsenal As Higuain Agrees 4-Year Juve Deal & Jovetic Move Ruled Out

Arsenal are set to miss out on two of their top striker targets with Gonzalo Higuain about to join Juventus while Stevan Jovetic doesn’t want to leave Italy.

Gonzalo_Higuain

It looks like Arsenal could be set to miss out on two of their top striker targets with reports claiming Gonzalo Higuain is about to join Juventus while Stevan Jovetic doesn’t want to leave Italy.

Higuain set for Juve

First up and the Express are reporting that Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain has agreed a deal to join Italian champions Juventus this summer.

The Argentine hitman is expected to leave Real Madrid this summer after director Angel Sanchez confirmed he’ll be sold at the end of the season and the Express claim Arsenal have shown an interest in bringing him to the Premier League with Arsene Wenger understood to be on the look-out for a world class striker this summer.

However, it appears we’ve missed the boat with the newspaper reporting that the Serie A champs have met with the players agents and agreed a four-year contract worth £100,000-a-week with the 25-year-old.

We may still have hope though, as the Express suggest the two clubs are yet to agree a fee, with Juve refusing to pay anymore than £19m – which is short of Madrid’s £25m asking price.

Jovetic wants Italy stay

Next up and we’ve also received a blow in our pursuit of Stevan Jovetic with the Metro carrying quotes from the players agent that suggest he want’s to remain in Italy this summer.

We’ve been strongly linked with a move for the 23-year-old striker in recent months and there were even reports earlier in the week that claimed a £24.5m deal had been agreed with Fiorentina.

However, it appears those reports were wide of the mark with the players agent Fali Ramadani revealing that the Montenegrin international has no interest in leaving Italy this summer.

‘Stevan prefers to stay in Italy rather than move away,’ Ramadani is quoted as saying by the Metro.

Despite their reported interest in Higuain, the Metro claim Juventus are also interested in Jovetic and the player is understood to favour a move to Turin, so we could end up losing both strikers to the same team.

I’m not totally convinced by Jovetic but I’ll be gutted if we do end up missing out on Higuain. I think he’d be a superb signing, so we’ll just have to hope Juventus can’t agree a fee with Madrid and we can swoop in and hijack the deal!

This is a total make up story. Don’t know why some bloggers won’t back out from arsenal’s biz. Ever since arsenal clinch the cl spot twisting of transfers concerning arsenal has been up but surprisingly no negative nor twisting has been directed to other premiership clubs.. something is going on that we all have yet to discover… can you guys leave arsene and arsenal alone. with or without big names arsenal will go through and they’ve put you guys so wrong.. can’t you believe that God is always on arsenal’s side no matter the pressure from fa, coaches or medias…

Why shld we waste our time and more money for nothing by buying these madrid and fiorentina rejects, we’ve ready made premier leagea materials like Benteke, Jelavic, Michu, Fellainy and even Holt, who are good player and cheaper. Epl has proven to be more difficult to many players across europe e.g chamack, park, Giroud, Maicon. So let’s buy quality and not names plz.

I dont realy no wat wrong wit wenger & his board. Y they cant close eyes n buy Jovetic. When they buy in-experience striker, at d end of the day they would loan him, and start searching for another 1. Well lets wait and see what is going to happen at d end of d day.

People like you are sceptics. When Henry was signed, Wenger was called names but He turned out to be a gem, similarly Vierra and the ingrate RVP. People like you who might even be failure in their personal endeavours should leave Wenger alone. He deserves our respect or does it mean people nowadays no longer have respect for age, loyalty and achievement ?

Well said, Olubayo – Arsenal should appoint you as their new manager. Clearly with your unparalleled knowledge of the game you would have Arsenal winning the league in your first season.

Seriously, Jovetic isn’t even that good of a player. Sure he can develop into one in the future but he’s not one right now.
When at 30 million we can get the Lewandowski’s of this world, we really shouldn’t be giving close to that for Jovetic.

Where did you get this information, because Higuain’s agent has said today that nothing is decided yet.

Stop making stuff up, or repeating stuff that other people make up.

I really hope this story is wrong. Higuain is exactly what Arsenal needed. Jovetic I could care less about, he’ll be about as good as Giroud. And no none of these mid table EPL forwards will do. And Man U isn’t dumb like us and will not sell Rooney to a rival. Only forward on the market that we could hope for is Cavani and that’s not going to happen. Higuain was our shot. Him, Isco, and a commanding DM was our need. Maybe we can get Dkenko. This 70 mil is worthless unless u get the right players

    Geezus, people!
First of all, how this is a “blow,” let alone “double,” is beyond me. The list of prospective Arsenal strikers goes on and on (it numbers at least 20 names), and if Arsenal didn’t even bother to bid for either of those particular players, they obviously had a reason. I know one – both are hugely overpriced. Jovetić is a barely proven winger/striker with a track record far less impressive than Aubameyang’s, and yet, he’s valued at three times the price! Higuain is an ever would-be star, a quality striker, no doubt, but for the money his transfer would consume, we can afford to buy an equally good player and add a few young prospects to boot.
Then, there’s Giroud, a “mediocre,” “average,” “useless” striker who has been dubbed a success by observers, both neutral and Arsenal’s opponents. Only not by some of the posters above, people with little insight into the PL and little awareness of the difficulty of the transition from Ligue 1 to PL for strikers. Wake up, guys, he’s a quality striker, period.
Finally, why would we buy two overpriced strikers? We only need one!

In other news: Arsenal suffered a triple blow as Wenger was denied the signing of Hulk, Godzilla, and King Kong! The club failed to meet the asking price for a plastic scale model of Godzilla at a flea market outside Fulham, and minutes later were informed that Hulk has set his mind on achieving success in Hollywood and will not consider moving, contrary to previous reports…

Aubameyang has plied his trade in the French league, which has been awful this season. We should be looking for a player who has a proven record in a major league (Germany, Italy, Spain). Re Giroud: personally I like the guy but he is slow and his first touch often lets him down, especially when he’s in a scoring position.

Unfortunately it looks like the Jovetic/Higuian rumours are just pre-seasonticket-renewal-hype. In the same way that we have been mugged in the past by links with Mata, Hazard, Gotze…

I know you don’t buy players based on YouTube videos but anyone who doubts Higuian’s qualities should look at the range of skills and finishes he displays here:

Please, we Nigerian gunners should stop this nonsense of using incorrect spelling of English language to air our views, and the equally annoying habit of trying to shorten every word of English, like y instead of why. It makes us look foolish and illitrate, beside that’s not English. Imagine if we’re taught the use of English language with such abbreviations, we will understand next to noting about how to read and write in English. Besides communication is the ability to pass on messages that is both intelligent and understood by all. This silly habit should stop, and if you can’t construct a good simple sentence in English the you don’t have a reason to comment on blogs, no matter how strong you feel your opinions is.

What I don’t understand about Arsenal is that the money has been available for a long time and now ther is just a bit more. The 70 million everyone keeps going on about is in an account called the TPA or Transfer Proceeds Account and has been at that level for a long time. Now we have the spnsership deals and the TV money there is no excuse not to buy Cavani or Falcao. We could spend the 70 m on just transfers and still easily fund a 200 k a week wage plus any other players we need and not even be close to touchig the 150 m in cash reserves which have been kept for many years now (just in case). Personally I do not beleive a thing I read until I see theplayer on the offcial site in an arsenal shirt. Bt this year financially we are better off but don’t be surprised if Arsene doesn’t buy a superstar and puts it down to unsettling the team. Wages could be become an issue if one pleyer is paid twice what another is. Myself if we don’t buy higuain bevause Jovetic is not the player we need then I would like the following realistic purchases. Wilfried Bony, Wanyama, Adel Rami, Mignolet, Chriscito, Benteke. If Arsene is really smart he will get the first four plus a mega star but unfournatly his ego of doing it without spending big bucks will take over as he would much prefer to finish second and not spend and have evryone pet him on the back for his economic prudence then actually spend and win which is why he hasn’t yet and I don’t se him starting now. Which annoys me a lot when you see how much money is available to him.
