Barcelona-Cesc-Fabregas

With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Chelsea are set to sign Marco van Ginkel and Manchester United eye a £25m move for Cesc Fabregas.

Blues close on van Ginkel

First up and Goal.com are reporting that Marco van Ginkel will become Jose Mourinho’s first new signing when he officially becomes Chelsea boss next month after agreeing a deal with Vitesse Arnhem for the box-to-box midfielder.

No fee has been revealed but the report claims the Blues feel van Ginkel is ready to challenge for a first team place and have amde their move early to snap up the highly-rated Holland under-21 international. The 20-year-old has just enjoyed his breakthrough season, scoring 8 goals in 33 appearances to help Vitesse finish an impressive fourth in the Eredivisie to qualify for next season’s Europa League.

Goal claim several clubs including Ajax and PSV have been tracking the talented youngster but Chelsea’s close relationship with Vitesse has seen them edge out the competition and van Ginkel is now expected to be revealed as Mourinho’s first new signing when he returns to Stamford Bridge early next month.

United eye £25m Fabregas

Next up and the Express are one of several media outlets who’re claiming that Manchester United have set their sights on Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas and are planning to make a shock £25m move to try and lure him back to the Premier League this summer.

Fabregas spent eight years at Arsenal before returning ‘home’ to Barca in 2011 but his time at the Nou Camp hasn’t quite gone according to plan and he’s struggled to hold down a first team place, and when he does play he’s often used out of position up front.

The Express claim that new United boss David Moyes wants to improve his central midfield options and has identified Fabregas as the man for the job but the champions may have to fend off interest from Arsenal with the Gunners understood to have first option to buy the midfielder back should the Catalans decide to sell.

It remains to be seen whether the north Londoners would be interested if Fabregas came on the market though, and if United did manage to strike a deal, it would see the 26-year-old reunited with old pal Robin van Persie at Old Trafford. Not sure too many Arsenal fans would be pleased at the sight of that!

Cesc Fabregas would be fantastic recruit for Man Utd and its dire midfield, but I highly doubt Fabregas would be willing to lose his legend status at Arsenal by switching to Man Utd. Say so, anythings impossible after RvP joined United directly from Arsenal!

Chelsea have Romeu, Loftos-check, Ake, Cholabah so why Van Garl? Is he better or much older than them? Now Essien will be back, Mikel and Ramires are available, Luiz can also play there. I called it wasting of ££££ and time

This is great news for arsenal. If man united get a bid excepted from barca or that does is inform arsenal how much barca will except and then bid the same price.

Cesc would never go to united so this is great news for arsenal.
