Schurrle Due In London To Complete Chelsea Move As Bayer Confirm Fee Is Agreed

Andre Schurrle is due to arrive in London early next week to complete his move to Chelsea after Bayer Leverkusen confirmed a fee had been agreed for the attacker

With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Chelsea have moved a step closer to signing Andre Schurrle.

André Schürrle

Andre Schurrle is due to arrive in London early next week to complete his move to Chelsea after Bayer Leverkusen confirmed a fee had been agreed for the attacker, according to Sky Sports News.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent months after another impressive season in Germany and it appears the Blues are finally set to get their man.

Bayer Leverkusen general manager Wolfgang Holzhauser has confirmed that an agreement has been reached that will see Schurrle move to Chelsea on a permanent basis with Belgian winger Kevin De Bruyne going in the opposite direction and joining the Bundesliga outfit on a season-long loan deal.

“We have reached an agreement with Chelsea,”

“They are going to buy Andre Schurrle for a specific fee and, in return, they will loan De Bruyne to us for a year for free.

“I expect Chelsea to stand by what has been agreed.” Wolfgang Holzhauser is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

Sky Sports claim the player has already agreed personal terms with the Blues and is now due to arrive in London early next week after Germany take on the USA on Sunday night to undergo a medical and complete the move.

While Leverkusen refused to reveal the fee Chelsea will be paying, the report suggests it’s in the region of £20m and the deal has finally been completed after Borussia Dortmund’s interest in De Bruyne briefly held up proceedings.

It appears everything has finally been agreed and Schurrle will become a Chelsea player sometime next week by which point Jose Mourinho’s return to west London could also have been confirmed.
