Liverpool Preparing Formal £20m Bid For Playmaker But Cool Interest In Papadopoulos

Liverpool are preparing a formal £20m offer for Henrikh Mkhitaryan but have cooled their interest in Kyriakos Papadopoulos due to concerns over a knee injury.

With the summer transfer window set to open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Liverpool are lining up a £20m move for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Liverpool are preparing a formal £20m offer for playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan but have cooled their interest in Kyriakos Papadopoulos due to concerns over a knee injury, according to the Telegraph.

Brendan Rodgers has already made two early moves in the transfer market with agreements in place to sign defender Kolo Toure and striker Iago Aspas but it seems he’s keen to make his first major addition with Mkhitaryan firmly in his sights.

The report claims the Reds boss has made the Armenian attacking midfielder his prime target this summer and is preparing a formal bid for the 24-year-old, thought to be in the region of £20m. Mkhitaryan has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after properties after a stunning season with Shakhtar Donetsk that saw his score 25 league goals and it would be quite the coup if Liverpool could pull it off.

Shakhtar have recently splashed out £18m on midfield duo Wellington Nem and Fernando to potentially pave the way for Mkhitaryan’s exit.

The Telegraph also report that Liverpool expect to sign Luis Alberto from Sevilla and Tiago Llori from Sporting Lisbon over the coming weeks but have cooled their interest in Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos due to concerns over a serious knee injury picked up last season.

With several new faces duo to arrive at Anfield this summer there will be the inevitable exits and the newspaper suggests the likes of Jonjo Shelvey, Stewart Downing, Andy Carroll and Martin Skrtel could all leave in the coming months.

well i think Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be a very good player for us and i will want these deal to be completed without wasting much time, but i will not want skrtel and downing also shelvey to leave because they are all good player that will make the difference coming next season, the manager should give all the players chances to fight for starting line up or make it a competition for the starting 11 in every game.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan would be a lottery pick for LFC. He has the potential, I dont know which is his optimal position. If he’s going to play at the midfield, next to Gerrard and a strong DMC thats great. If he’s going to take Coutinho’s place or others, i dont know if such an amount of money would benefit the club and the players. From the current roster, Downing is a mediocre player for LFC, and he should leave. About Papadopoulos, he’s too strong and aggressive, and he doesnt have many injuries in his career…

For a player to score 25 goals from midfield i believe he’s not a joker
if LFC can wrap up this deal as fast as possible then i think they are heading some were.
I strongly believe BR can build a dynasty for liverpool if given the needed resources and time

I think we should give way to Luis if he insiste of leaving. We still need to go out and get more prolific players that we fit Luis.We now need players who are ready to give all the have to put us back to the top.I think Torres was more popular than suarez at Anfield but where is he today.so should give chance to our new singnings may be they will deliver.
