Eden Hazard Wants Chelsea To Sign ‘Great’ Wayne Rooney
It appears Eden Hazard is keen to link up with Wayne Rooney at Stamford Bridge claiming the Manchester United striker would be a ‘brilliant signing’ for Chelsea
With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Eden Hazard is keen to link up with Wayne Rooney.
Eden Hazard is keen to link up with Wayne Rooney at Stamford Bridge claiming the Manchester United striker would be a ‘brilliant signing’ for Chelsea, according to Sky Sports News.
Rooney’s future has been cast in doubt in recent months after former boss Sir Alex Ferguson claimed the striker had asked to leave Old Trafford towards the end of last season, and speculation of a possible move intensified after the 27-year-old returned home from United’s pre-season tour of the Far East after just one day with a supposed hamstring strain.
Chelsea are one of a number of clubs who’ve been linked with a move for Rooney in recent weeks with reports suggesting the Blues were lining-up an opening bid of £20m. While David Moyes insists the former Everton man is not for sale this summer, Jose Mourinho refused to rule out making a move before expressing his admiration for the striker last week.
Now it seems Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard would welcome the United front-man to Stamford Bridge, calling him a ‘great player’ who would be a ‘brilliant signing’ for the Europa League winners.
“Rooney would be a brilliant signing. He’s a great player who has the experience and he’s still only young, at 27.
“He’s got a few years left to play. But it’s not up to me. It’s not my decision.” Hazard is quoted as saying by Sky Sports
Chelsea are yet to make any formal move for Rooney but with Mourinho seemingly on the look-out for a big name striker this summer, Rooney would certainly fit the bill. However, the striker still has two years left to run on his contract at United so the champions hold all the cards, but it would be a sensational coup if Chelsea were able to lure him to west London this summer.
Would Chelsea fans welcome the signing of Rooney? How would United supporters feel if he went to Stamford Bridge?
