David Moyes Says United’s Bid To Sign Cesc Fabregas ‘Is Ongoing’
Manchester United manager David Moyes has confirmed the club are still keen on signing Cesc Fabregas and describes their pursuit of the midfielder as ‘ongoing’
With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, more on Cesc Fabregas’ future.
Manchester United manager David Moyes has confirmed the club are still keen on signing Cesc Fabregas and describes their pursuit of the midfielder as ‘ongoing’, according to Sky Sports News.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a return to the Premier League just two years after leaving Arsenal for Barcelona, with his time in Spain not going quite as smoothly as he would have hoped.
Fabregas has struggled to establish himself as an important figure in the starting eleven and when he does play, he’s often played in unfamiliar positions. This has lead to speculation suggesting he could be open to a move this summer and champions United have already had two bids turned down for the Spanish International.
Boss David Moyes hinted that they may concede defeat if their last offer was rejected but when asked by reporters today about the deal, Moyes said they are very-much still in the hunt, simply saying:
“It is ongoing.” Moyes is quoted as saying by Sky Sports
Arsenal are still lurking in the background with boss Arsene Wenger confirming the north Londoners have a buy-back clause – although the exact details of the clause are unclear – and the Frenchman hinted he would be on the case should Fabregas decide he wants to move on this summer.
Sky Sports reported earlier in the week that their sources had indicated the midfielder was considering his future after Barca failed to give him the assurances he wanted over regular first team football next season, so Arsenal and United remain hopeful of pulling off a sensational coup.
Do you think Fabregas will leave Barcelona this summer? If so, where do you think he’ll go?
