Transfer News: Arsenal Hold Positive Talks Over £8m Deal | Spaniards Eye Liverpool Ace

latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal have held positive talks with Roma about the sale of Gervinho while Barcelona are eyeing a Liverpool’s Daniel Agger.

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal have held positive talks over selling Gervinho while Barcelona are eyeing a Liverpool’s Daniel Agger.

Gervinho on brink of move

First up and the Daily Star are one of several news outlets who’re reporting that Arsenal are on the verge of selling Gervinho to Italian side Roma.

The Ivory Coast international has fallen out-of-favour at the Emirates after failing to live-up to his price-tag following an £10.8m move from Lille in 2011, and he’s been tipped for a move this summer.

The Star claim that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini flew into London on Friday and held ‘positive’ talks, with an £8m deal understood to be close to completion.

Roma are now managed by former Lille boss Rudi Garcia, who knows Gervinho well from their time together in France, and it seems he’s keen to link-up with the 26-year-old again in Serie A. An apparent source told the newspaper:

“Garcia has made Gervinho his top choice.

“He knows only too well of his capabilities and that is why Roma will pay a higher price.”

So another player could be heading out the exit door at Arsenal and fans will be hoping the club start to concentrate on bringing player into the club during the closing weeks of the transfer window.

Barca eye Agger

Next and the Mirror are reporting that Barcelona are ready to submit an improved offer for Liverpool’s Daniel Agger after seeing their opening bid turned down by the Mersyesiders.

The Catalans seem desperate to bring in another centre-back this summer and the newspaper claims they’ve turned their attention to Agger after being priced out of a move for David Luiz, with Chelsea believed to have slapped a £40m price-tag on the Brazilian’s head.

The Mirror suggest Barca have already seen one offer rejected for Agger but are ready to go back in with an improved bid – although they fail to disclose the exact amount the Spaniard’s will put on the table.

However, with Jamie Carragher retired and Martin Skrtel strongly linked with a move this summer, it’s highly unlikely Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will entertain any offers for Agger so the La Liga champions might be wasting their time.

Wenger will not sign any body. I believed wenger has paid journalists to keep publishing lieS about transfer. Mr wenger was the first coach to enter transfer market and he will be the last to leave without buying any tangible player. He said when I see the right player I will buy. Meaning he has not seen any right player when he is not ready to spend in the transfer market. The likes of jovetic, ginter, hiquian, kondobia and lewadoski are not the right players in the transfer market. Wenger is deceiving the fans bidding for players when in the real sense he dosn’t want to buy.

If we fail on suarez, we shd then sign Benteke. He is a player under development, he can do a little bit of a HENRY. Is Lewandowski as expensive too.
