Arsenal take on Napoli in the Emirates Cup this afternoon at the Emirates Stadium and Arsene Wenger has named a strong starting eleven.

Per Mertesacker is handed the captains armband with Thomas Vermealen out injured and Mikel Arteta’s starting from the bench. Jack Wilshere plays in midfield alongside Aaron Ramsey and Tomas Rosicky while youngster Serge Gnabry is given another chance to impress in attack.

Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski also start as does Carl Jenkinson, Laurent Koscielny, Lukasz Fabianski and Kieran Gibbs. Here’s the confirmed teams:

Arsenal:

Fabianski, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Ramsey, Wilshere, Rosicky, Podolski, Gnabry, Giroud.

Subs: Martinez, Sagna, Arteta, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Akpom, Miquel, Zelalem

Napoli:

Pepe Reina; Mesto, Cannavaro, Britos, Armero; Behrami, Inler; José Callejon, Hamsik, Insigne; Pandev.

If chelsea have the opportunity to sign Gustayo and Lewadoski I think its the best Rooney is a great player and a very big signing for chelsea
