As we enter the final stages of the summer transfer window, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Samuel Eto’o arrives in London to complete his move to Chelsea.

Samuel Eto’o arrived in London late on Wednesday night to complete a move to Chelsea from Anzhi Makhachkala after Jose Mourinho admitted defeat in his pursuit of Wayne Rooney, according to the Daily Mail.
The Blues have been courting Rooney all summer and had a bid rejected last month, but it seems the striker isn’t prepared to force an exit from Old Trafford and he publicly thanked the Manchester United fans for their support on his Facebook page yesterday.
Mourinho has now switched his attention to Eto’o and the Mail claim the 32-year-old arrived into London St Pancras train station late on Wednesday night after agreeing to take a £10m-a-year pay-cut to join Chelsea.
The newspaper suggests the former Inter Milan striker has agreed a £7m one-year deal and will join from Anzhi on a free transfer, with the Russian’s also handing him a sizeable pay-off to get him off their wage bill.
Here are photos of Eto’o arriving with his agent Pini Zahavi last night:
The striker is now expected to undergo a medical on Thursday before completing his move but his signing won’t be registered in time for him to take part in Friday’s Super Cup against Bayern Munich.
Eto’o’s arrival now casts doubt over the future’s of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, although the Senegalese hitman is the most likely to leave and has been linked with a move back to Newcastle United.

ckukwuemeka is not like that!! If i may ask can eto’o perform more than torres? See what u need to understand in football there must be a day that will turn to your own that day you will play and play everybody will comfirm you, well am happy for him. but i want us to be using both of them in terms of changing formation let’s leave 4-5-1 rather 4-4-2 will favour us
