Tottenham get back to domestic action this weekend after the two week international break as they welcome Norwich City to White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.

Ahead of the game boss Andre Villas-Boas has been speaking to the media and gave the clubs official website a team news and injury update.

Spurs had 12 players away with their countries during the break but AVB confirmed only Gylfi Sigurdsson has returned with any sort of injury. The midfielder picked up a dead leg while away with Iceland but he has taken part in training on Thursday and should be in contention this weekend.

New signing Erik Lamela was the last to return from his excursions with the 21-year-old only arriving back in north London on Thursday morning following a long-haul trip to Paraguay with the Argentinean squad so he will be assessed for fatigue.

However, Villas-Boas confirmed that he has no fresh injury concerns meaning Aaron Lennon and Etienne Capoue are the only two players definitely missing this weekend. The Spurs boss told TottenhamHotspur.com:

“Gylfi had a dead leg, although he did the beginning of training today (Thursday).

“Erik Lamela arrived back (from Argentina’s match in Paraguay) this morning, but most of the players are fit and looking good. We are ready to go into the game.”

Tottenham will be looking to bounce back following a disappointing 1-0 loss to north London rivals Arsenal just before the international break, but will face a buoyant Norwich side who sit ninth in the Premier League table after beating Southampton 1-0 last time out.
