Barcelona are eyeing a summer move for Chelsea number one Petr Cech or Manchester United’s David De Gea as the look to find a replacement for want-away goalkeeper Victor Valdes, according to the Mirror.

Valdes was strongly linked with a move away from the Nou Camp this summer after confirming he wont be signing a new contract with the Spanish giants.

The 31-year-old has less than 12 months left to run on his current deal and is expected to leave Barca on a free transfer next summer, leaving Tata Martino with a huge void to fill.

The Mirror claim the Catalans have already began their search for a replacement and have shortlisted two of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers, with Chelsea’s Petr Cech believed to be the La Liga champions number one target.

The Czech international has been with the Blues for over nine years since joining from Rennes in 2004 and has shown no desire to leave Stamford Bridge any time soon, but the chance to move to Barcelona could prove tempting for the 31-year-old should they come calling.

Chelsea will have highly-rated Belgian youngster Thibaut Courtois back at the club next summer to contest the number one shirt, so Jose Mourinho could be tempted to cash in on Cech while his value remains high.

Should they fail in their attempts to land Cech, the newspaper suggest Barcelona will then turn their attentions to United stopper De Gea – who has emerged as one of the stand-out goalkeepers in the Premier League after a difficult first season in England.

The Spaniard has settled into life well at Old Trafford and the Mirror claim it would take a bid in excess of £30m to prize him away from United, so a move next summer looks highly unlikely.
