Italian giants Juventus are interested in signing Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku after the striker was sent out on loan for the second consecutive season, according to the Mirror.

The Blues signed Lukaku from Anderlecht in 2011 for £18m with the youngster tagged as the ‘next Didier Drogba’. But his start to life in west London was a frustrating one as he barely featured in his first season at the club and spent the entire 2012/13 campaign on loan at West Bromwich Albion where he impressed, scoring 17 goals in 35 games.

With Jose Mourinho returning to Chelsea this summer and his penchant for using a big strong front man, many thought this was Lukaku’s chance to become a first team regular at Stamford Bridge. However, after making just 1 start and 2 substitute appearances, Mourinho decided to send the 20-year-old out on loan once again and he sealed a season-long loan to Everton on transfer deadline day.

The Mirror claim this latest snub has alerted Juventus who believe Lukaku is frustrated at his lack of chances at Chelsea and are hopeful he will be open to a move next summer.

The Belgian international has also switched agents from Christophe Henrotay to ‘super-agent’ Mino Raiola, who has strong ties in Italy and negotiated the move of Paul Pogba to Juventus from Manchester United in the summer.

While Lukaku has publicly stated his desire to forge a career at Stamford Bridge, the newspaper suggests that Juve are hopeful Raiola will be the key to bringing the powerful striker to Turin.

Lukaku has been in excellent form so far at Everton this season with many fans an pundits questioning why he was allowed to leave Chelsea – particularly given the fact the Blues current crop of strikers are struggling for form.
