Manchester United’s struggles continued as Southampton stuck late to snatch a valuable point at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Robin van Persie looked to be putting United on their way to victory with the opening goal midway through the first half, cooly slotting home after Rooney’s effort had been saved. However, the champions failed to push on and get the second and the visitors made them pay when Lovern bundled home in the 89th minute to snatch a point.
