Chelsea travel north to take on Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday lunchtime, here’s the latest team news from both camps.

The Blues head in to the game sitting second in the Premier League – just two points off leaders Arsenal – so can temporarily move top with a win ahead of the Gunners clash with third-placed Liverpool later in the day.

Boss Jose Mourinho has been in front of the media on Friday morning for his pre-match press conference and confirmed to Chelseafc.com the good news that his squad have suffered no fresh injuries from their 2-0 win over Arsenal in midweek.

The only absentee is midfielder Marco Van Ginkel, who’s expected to miss the entire season with a cruciate knee ligament injury, so otherwise the Chelsea squad have a clean bill of health leaving Mourinho with several selection dilemma’s to ponder over.

Newcastle on the other hand have some injury problems to contend with as they prepare to welcome the west Londoners.

The Geordies will once again have to make-do without captain Fabricio Coloccini this weekend. The Argentinean defender is back in training following a groin problem but is unlikely to be risked due to a lack of match fitness.

Fellow central defender Steven Taylor is still sidelined with a hamstring injury after suffering a set back last week, while Paul Dummett has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

This mean that boss Alan Pardew may have no option but to play Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa alongside Mike Williamson at the back.
