Arsenal take on Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night looking to take control of their Champions League group.

Ahead of the game, boss Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference and gave a team news and injury update with the latest on Jack Wilshere, Serge Gnabry, Theo Walcott, Mathieu Flamini, Kieran Gibbs and Thomas Eisfeld’s fitness.

Midfielder Wilshere missed Saturday’s win over Liverpool with an ankle problem and Wenger confirmed he’ll sit out tomorrow’s clash with Dortmund before having a fitness test on Thursday to see if he’ll be involved against Manchester United on Sunday.

Winger Gnabry has been missing in recent weeks but has been passed fit to travel to Germany while Flamini is in-line to face United this weekend after overcoming a groin problem. Left-back Gibbs was forced off against Liverpool with a minor calf injury but has been passed fit to feature against Dortmund, while there is also good news on Walcott with the attacker expected back after the upcoming international break and Eisfeld has returned to training.

Here’s what the boss told the clubs official website:

on Jack Wilshere…

As you know he has not travelled because he has not practised. I will know more on Thursday when he has another test. If that is not a success he will definitely be out for Sunday, if he is out for Sunday he will be out for England as well.

on other team news…

Gnabry has travelled and is in the squad. Walcott is not far, he should be back soon after the break and Flamini has a good chance to be available on Sunday. Gibbs has travelled and should be available. Eisfield, he was with us this morning in training.

Wenger should rest a couple of key players for Sunday as Man U had an easy game tonight. Should get at least a draw against Dortmund but the way we are playing in the league, Arsenal are going to batter Man U. GOYG!!!

We should go there and attack but always be ready for counters from them.

I love to see the first choise goal-keeper in goal, followed by the back four, Sagna, Mertersarca, Koshoni and Gibbs or Monreal if Gibbs is not fit, then followed by Arteta and Ramsey, then Rososki, Ozil and Cazola, and then Giroud. These are the team I expect to start off with doutmond tonight and if they are on their best form they will come out victorous.
