Chelsea target Jackson Martinez has revealed he wants to make a move away from Porto one day but admits it’s up to the club to grant him his wish, according to talkSPORT.

The Colombian hitman has continued his excellent goal-scoring form since making the move to Porto from Mexican side Jaguares in 2012, netting 34 goals in 43 appearances to help the club lift the Portuguese title last season, while he’s already got 9 in 10 games this campaign.

His impressive form has seen him linked with a move to several top European clubs with Chelsea reportedly among those keen on luring him away from the Estádio do Dragão along with the likes of Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.

talkSPORT claims that Porto president Pinto da Costa insisted last week that they have received no bids for the 27-year-old but the striker has admitted he’d be keen to secure a ‘good transfer’ at some point in the future as long as his club agreed to let him go.

“The years are passing and one day I hope to make a good transfer. It clearly depends on Porto, a club that sells its players so well. Leaving or staying depends on Porto but I will only go if there is something concrete.” Martinez is quoted as saying by talkSPORT

Chelsea have made an inconsistent start to the new season with a regular goal-scorer the main issue in the team. Samuel Eto’o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba have scored just 3 league goals between them this season so a prolific marksman like Martinez would certainly add a potent threat to the west Londoners Arsenal.

With January approaching you wouldn’t bet against Jose Mourinho entering the market for a new hitman and he could do a lot worse than look to the Colombian, but whether he could persuade his former club to cash in remains to be seen.
