Talk of Alessio Cerci heading to the Premier League has been played down by both the player and his club Torino amid reported interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham, according to Sky Sports News.

The 26-year-old has impressed since joining Torino from Fiorentina in 2012 and has enjoyed an excellent season in front of goal this campaign, scoring 8 goals in 12 games, and has earned 7 caps for the Italian national team.

His form has seen him linked with a whole host of top European clubs and Sky Sports suggests scouts from Arsenal, Liverpool, United and Spurs were in the stands to watch the winger in action for Italy during their 2-2 draw with Nigeria at Craven Cottage on Monday night.

Speculation continues to increase regarding Cerci’s future with reports suggesting he could be heading to England, but the player has moved to play down those reports insisting he hasn’t held talks with any interested party.

“It’s not true. I haven’t spoken to anyone,” Cerci is quoted as saying by Sky Sports after Italy’s draw with Nigeria

Torino are understandably keen to hang on to their star man and President Urbano Cairo has also had his say on the rumours, insisting he’s received no offers from English clubs and is confident Cerci will still be at the club in January.

“I haven’t received any calls from England for Cerci, even if I read in the newspapers that there is interest from British clubs.

“As far as I am concerned, there’s no truth to it. Will he stay at Torino in January? Of course.” Cairo is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

As we approach the January transfer window the rumours are only going to intensify but it appears one Italian winger is not close to securing a move to the Premier League.
